“Yeah, maybe…. I have to go” he said as he collected his things and stood up from the bench.
“Ah…okay” she said wondering why his mood had changed all of a sudden.
“I’ll see you later” he said and left leaving Sheryl perplexed.
Later that day, Ed walked into the class where the detention was being held. He walked to one of the seats at the back of the classroom and said down.
“Detention for two hours” he thought.
He hoped Mr. Boomer wouldn’t be there whole time, that way he wouldn’t have to pretend to study the whole time and maybe he could browse a little to pass the time. Just then Mr. Boomer walked into the room and made his way to where Ed was sitting.
“You… ma…made it” Mr. Boomer stammered.
“Of course sir, it’s not like I have a choice” Ed drily.
“Cell phone” Mr. Boomer told him opening his hand to receive it.
“You want me to give you my phone?” Ed asked in disbelief.
“We wouldn’t want you browsing instead of studying now would we?”
