much pride in. The other teachers had argued that her standards were too high but she thought their argument was a crock of nonsense. Kingston Academy was well known for achieving excellent academic success for their students and Mrs. Witt felt that such a reputation should not by any means be compromised. She believed that learning and obtaining an education was much more than studying and passing an exam. It involved learning to carry yourself among your peers, public speaking and presentation skills, listening skills, team building and team working, leadership skills, the list went on. Many managed to gain admission but not all managed to cope well with the principles she incorporated into her teaching and learning experience.
She leaned back in her comfortable leather chair and took off her square rimmed reading glasses and crossed her legs under the table. She looked at the heap of student files at the corner of her desk and sighed as she rubbed her tired hazel brown eyes.
“So many files so little time” she murmured.
She made it a point to go through the files of the students who had signed up for her classes to determine which were the wheat and which were the chuff. She did not believe in wasting her time as well as the student’s time, so for the wheat, she knew they were more than capable but for those that looked like chuff she paid a little more attention to. Watching their every move. Waiting to see if they would live up to her expectations. If yes, they stayed. If no, she dismissed them from her classes. She found that this method was the most productive for both her and her students. As she looked through the files, a smile rose on her face.
“This is going to be fun” she said to herself.
