Universal Warriors (Chapter 6, Page 35)

nights. She would stay awake wondering what he was thinking about, what he was doing and occasionally who he was with. She couldn’t help but feel insecure at times, she knew he loved her but she wondered if that was enough. She found herself analyzing and scrutinizing their conversations and his messages as if searching for something. Trying to anticipate what would happen next so that she could prepare herself.
She was preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. She had no idea that things would be this hard after graduation. She understood he needed to work and sometimes he couldn’t help but be away for months at a time but that didn’t change the way she felt. She constantly told herself to be strong and believe in what they had and this was the only thing that kept her going.
She looked at the clock hanging on the wall of the study and sighed. Time seemed to be taking forever and it was driving her nuts. She placed the open book she had been reading a few minutes ago on the couch and covered her face with her hands.
“Larry!” she groaned in frustration.
Just then her phone rang, she looked at it and her face lit up when she saw Larry’s name as the caller id. She quickly grabbed the phone and answered it.
“Larry” she said trying not to sound too excited.
“Hey, princess” he said softly, loving the sound of her voice
“Sweetie I miss you” she said with emotion.
“I miss you too” he confessed.
