“Maybe hostile is not the word but I can’t help but sense the tension”
“I have to go” she said and turned around and started to walk away but stopped in her tracks when Lance grabbed her arm and gently turned her round to face him.
“What are you… doing?” she asked nervously.
“I want to know what I did” he insisted.
“Let go of me” she demanded uncomfortable with him being so close.
Lance released her arm and took a step back.
“You didn’t do anything wrong” she told him before she quickly walked away.
Lance stared after her a little puzzled.
“She’s was a strange one that one” he thought. But he liked it. She kept him guessing and that was the kind he liked.
Later on that night Sheryl lay eyes wide open in bed, thinking about the day that had just ended.
“I can’t do this” she thought as she recalled the moment with Lance. Why had she been nervous? What was it about him being that close that made her uncomfortable?. She didn’t understand.
