tensed up and his expression was grim. The conversation took about two minutes then Lance hung up.
“Is everything okay?”
“Something came up, I need to go” he said abruptly and left.
Sheryl wondered what was bothering him but she wasn’t going to ask about it. It was none of her business, atleast that was what she thought.
Later that day Sheryl had waited for Lance at the workshop but he didn’t show up, she wondered if his absence had something to do with the call he had gotten earlier or whether he it was just because the weekend was coming up. Either way she was furious, this was supposed to be a partnership and at that moment she felt like he had jumped ship. She managed to build a bit of the model and when it was time for supper she locked it in one of the lockers at the workshop for safekeeping and left. Twenty minutes later, she was in her room chatting with Renée.
“So he didn’t show up” Renée said sounding appalled.
“Imagine, I could kill him” Sheryl said with frustration.
“There must be a good reason behind him not showing up” Renée suggested.
“I’m not interested” Sheryl spat out.
“Anyway, I’m going to visit my grandma this weekend so you are on your own” Renée informed her.
