Universal Warriors (Chapter 8, Page 46)

the room. He wasn’t sure where to start; if he were a girl and he wanted to hide something where would he put it. He quietly walked over to the bed, making sure that he was light on his feet to avoid alerting the people downstairs. He looked at the bed which was neatly made and leaned over to the head board. He grabbed the pillows and threw them on the floor. It wasn’t under the pillows. He pulled back and kneeled on the floor and lifted the rose bud patterned duvet and directed the torch light to the contents under the bed. He pulled out a small shoe box and opened it. In it were birthday cards and a few pictures of Sheryl and her family. He closed the shoe box and moved his attention to a small bag, he opened it and thoroughly searched it but he still didn’t find what he was looking for. He got up from the floor and walked to the desk near the door; he started searching through the drawers but froze when he heard footsteps approaching the door. He knew it was time to leave; he dashed back to the window he had used to enter the room and skillfully slipped out.
Gill opened her daughter’s door and switched on the lights and stopped dead in her tracks.
“Pierce!” she called out to her husband in panic.
Pierce rushed from their bedroom and quickly walked down the hall to Sheryl’s room.
“What is it honey?” he asked as he entered the room.
“They are back” Gill said gripped with fear.
