“Have you checked everything on your packing list?” Gill asked Sheryl as she buckled her seatbelt.
“Yes mama, everything is packed” Sheryl answered.
“Alright then, let’s get a move on before she misses her flight”
Pierce reversed out of the driveway and then drove through the house gates heading for the local airport. Sheryl looked out of the car window, watching the landscape go by, she had only lived in Spoonbaker town for the past three months, yet she knew she was going to miss it. It wasn’t so much the town itself but rather the places and memories she had already made with her parents. Her parents knew the constant transferring took its toll on them but they always stayed on top of it. Before they moved anywhere they always researched the town and looked for fun places they could visit and spend time together as a family. It was on their fishing trips, their campouts and hikes, that Sheryl ever truly felt normal. And for each they ventured on, they took enough photos to make a whole album. Sheryl had each and every photo saved as a digital copy on her laptop. In many ways, her parents were her best friends and she cherished every moment she spent with them. She wondered how she was going to cope being away from home for the first time. She shook her head in an effort to get rid of her fearful thoughts.
“I’ll cross that bridge when I get there” she told herself.
Fifteen minutes later they had arrived at the airport. Sheryl offloaded her bags and placed them on the bag trolley. She hugged her mum and dad and said her goodbyes. She didn’t cry because she figured she could always come and visit when..........
