“She is in the air as we speak” the elderly man confirmed.
“Excellent! Call Seth and tell him to be waiting for her on the other side”
“Roger that” the elderly man responded before he cut the line and dialed Seth’s number.
“Hello” Seth’s deep but scratchy voice answered.
“The package is in the post”
“Understood, the girl at the coffee shop will give you your money.” Seth said.
The line went dead and the man walked across to the coffee shop where the waitress handed him a brown package. He opened it discreetly and peered at its contents. He smiled showing his stained teeth which had resulted from his excessive smoking and winked at the waitress to confirm everything was alright. He then quickly made his way to the exit, happy that his job was done.
“Lance! Hurry up!” Mackenzie called out to her brother from the foot of the marble white staircase.
“Coming!” she heard him shout back.
Mackenzie shook her head in disapproval, wondering what was taking him so long. He had no sense of urgency and that annoyed her especially when she had to wait for him. Mackenzie, being the older one had always been the more organized one of the two. Even when they were younger, she found herself cleaning after her little brother. It used to annoy her in the beginning but she figured she was the only one who could take care of him since their parents were hardly ever around. She had......
